Retail Design Concept
The Rasees showroom design was developed around the sensory and experiential qualities inherent to luxury perfumery — where the physical retail environment must communicate the essence, exclusivity, and craftsmanship of the products it houses. The design language draws on rich material contrasts — warm wood veneers against cool stainless steel, soft ambient lighting against focused product illumination — to create a layered, immersive environment that invites customers to slow down, explore, and engage with the product collection.
Customer circulation was a primary design consideration — ensuring every display position is accessible, visible, and presented at an optimal viewing and interaction height. The reception and cashier zone was positioned to serve both as a functional transaction point and a brand statement piece, anchoring the spatial composition of the showroom. Brand integration was woven throughout every element — from the custom signage and graphics to the material palette and decorative details — ensuring total consistency between the physical space and the Rasees brand identity.
Execution Challenges & Atlantis Solutions
Challenge 1: Designing Display Systems for Luxury Perfume Product Presentation
Luxury perfume display requires a very specific approach — products must be presented at optimal viewing heights, individually accessible, well-illuminated without causing heat or UV damage to the product, and arranged to guide the customer through a curated discovery journey rather than a simple shelf browse. Standard retail display solutions are entirely unsuitable for this presentation quality.
Solution: Atlantis designed and manufactured fully bespoke display units for the Rasees showrooms — incorporating integrated LED strip lighting at precise angles to illuminate each product without glare or heat exposure; adjustable display shelving to accommodate different bottle sizes and product lines; and tempered glass fronts to provide product visibility while protecting the display inventory. All display joinery was finished in materials that complemented the brand palette and enhanced the perceived value of the products on display.
Challenge 2: Achieving Brand Consistency Across All Spatial Elements
A luxury retail environment must feel like a coherent physical extension of the brand — every material, colour, texture, and detail should reinforce the brand identity and communicate a consistent message to the customer. Achieving this level of brand integration across joinery, finishes, lighting, signage, and accessory elements simultaneously requires meticulous design coordination.
Solution: Atlantis developed a unified retail design specification document before any fabrication or installation commenced — defining approved material palettes, finish standards, colour references, lighting colour temperatures, and branding integration guidelines for every element in the showroom. All subcontractors and workshop teams worked from this unified specification, with quality sign-off required at each stage before the next phase commenced.
Challenge 3: Integrated Lighting Design for Product & Atmosphere
Retail lighting in a luxury perfume showroom must serve two simultaneous objectives — creating an ambient atmosphere that evokes the brand's luxury positioning, and delivering precise product illumination that showcases each fragrance bottle as a display object in its own right. Poorly designed lighting in a luxury retail environment can immediately diminish the perceived quality of even the finest products and materials.
Solution: Atlantis integrated the lighting design into the fit-out specification from the earliest stage — using architectural recessed lighting to create a warm, even ambient base layer; directional spotlights on adjustable tracks to provide focused product illumination with full flexibility for display rearrangement; and integrated LED strips within all display joinery for close-proximity product lighting. Colour temperature was carefully controlled throughout — warm white tones used in ambient zones, neutral-to-cool white at product display positions to enhance the clarity and brilliance of the fragrance packaging.
Challenge 4: Fit-Out Execution to Commercial Retail Timeline
Retail fit-out projects operate under strict commercial timelines — the client's business cannot generate revenue until the showroom is operational, and any delay directly impacts the commercial opening date. Delivering a high-quality, bespoke retail fit-out within a compressed commercial programme requires precise sequencing, reliable supply chains, and proactive site management.
Solution: Atlantis developed a detailed fit-out programme before mobilization — sequencing all trades (ceiling, wall, flooring, joinery installation, lighting, and final finishes) in the correct order with float time built in for snagging. Custom joinery fabrication was initiated in the workshop concurrently with on-site structural works, ensuring joinery was ready for installation as soon as the site was prepared to receive it. Daily progress tracking and weekly programme reviews ensured the project stayed on track for the client's target opening date.
