Behind the Scenes: Paris Fashion Week SS25
An intimate account of the spring/summer 2025 collections season in Paris — the energy, the conversations, and the pieces that will define the next twelve months.
There is nothing quite like the energy of Paris in fashion week season. The city holds its breath, then exhales in extraordinary colour and form across dozens of shows compressed into five extraordinary days.
This season, the dominant conversation was fluidity. Silhouettes softened. The rigid shoulder lines of recent seasons gave way to something more romantic, more considered. Designers returned to the body as a subject rather than an architectural armature.
The colour story was equally compelling. Deep burgundy and forest green dominated the more structured collections, while softer palettes of pearl, blush, and warm ivory spoke to the romantic mood. Gold — my perennial favourite — appeared not as flash but as warmth, woven through fabric rather than applied as surface decoration.
For clients planning purchases around the upcoming season, I would look to the investment pieces shown in these collections: the precisely constructed blazer that sits somewhere between masculine tailoring and feminine ease, and the silk slip dress that works as both eveningwear and a layering piece.
